First grade visited a fire station

First grade pupils went on an excursion to a fire station, where they had the opportunity to learn about the work of firefighters and see the equipment they use during emergency responses.

During the visit, the children explored fire engines, equipment and protective gear. The firefighters showed them what they need to have ready for an emergency, how quickly they can put on their protective clothing and what the different parts of their equipment are used for.

The excursion also included a discussion about safety. The children learned how to behave in dangerous situations, when to call the emergency number and why it is important to stay calm. Thanks to the practical demonstrations, they could better understand how demanding and important the work of firefighters is.

The visit was not only an interesting experience for the pupils, but also a valuable lesson about helping others, courage and responsibility. They left the fire station with many new things they had learned and experiences they will certainly remember for a long time.
